Academic Interests and History

My academic interests include computer architecture for high-performance computing, rapid prototyping of digital systems, reconfigurable computing, FPGA architecture, and heterogenous computing architectures.

My current academic goal is to immerse myself in the scientific community to develop the breadth necesary to contribute to the field. To this end, I seek to to explore as much breadth in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Statistics as my undergraduate career allows. I am working towards a solid understanding needed to succeed in graduate study, and aim to continue academic presuits throughout my career. I also enjoy teaching, and hope to build a career involving both teaching and research.
I pride myself on being a "builder", taking care to understand a problem in its context, with the breadth required to implement a complete solution.

On the side, I am very interested in computer graphics, mathematical modeling of natural phenomena, and procedural content generation.

Undergraduate

I have graduated a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley in May 2010 with a GPA of 3.71. Throughput my undergraduate career, I placed significant emphasis on breadth and research, completing multiple research projects and pursuing outside interests including statistics and mathematics.

Graduate

I look forward to joining MIT's CSAIL laboratory in January 2011. Until that time, I will continue my work on reconfigurable computing with Professor John Wawrzynek at UC Berkeley as a staff researcher.
